Request Summary: I would like to know how many people have successfully obtained a work permit through the temporary policy that allows tourists to apply for a work permit in Canada. The data includes the number of domestic work permit applications, the number of approvals, and the approval rate for tourist visa holders from August 1, 2020 to August 28, 2024. If possible, I would also like to know how many of these work permits were obtained through flagpoling, and how many people are eligible for work permit renewal, that is, foreign citizens who held a work permit in the past 12 months but changed their status in Canada to "visitors" can apply to legally work in Canada while waiting for a decision on their new work permit application.
