Informal Request for ATI Records Previously Released

Organization: Employment and Social Development Canada

Year: 2024

Month: November

Request Number: A-2024-02244

Request Summary: Information on processing fees, allocation of donations and the impact of donations as part of the Government of Canada Workplace Charitable Campaign (GCWCC), particularly by ePledge, cheque, cash and credit card. Processing fees and net contributions: Please provide the formula for calculating processing fees for designated donations (besides United Way and HealthPartners) through the GCWCC, processed by United Way East Ontario in 2023 and 2024. If I were to donate $200 to the Ottawa Hospital Foundation through a payroll deduction in 2024, how much would the fee be, and how much would the Foundation receive? How is this different than in 2023? Does the formula vary depending on the amount of the donation? What are the fees for donations by cheque, cash and credit card? Are there instances where multiple United Ways would charge a fee for the same GCWCC donation? I am also requesting information on the funds raised through the “Be” project and sent to HealthPartners to support refugees in 2019, homeless people in 2021 and Indigenous causes in 2022. How were these funds used and how was their impact measured?
